The Chod Land ist rich in cultural traditions.
The carnival in Postrekov
Every year the famous carnival celebrations take place in the village of Postrekov and many tourist are attrected by this old traditional performance and come to see and even take part in it. It all starts on a certain Saturday in February with a mask ball, then on Sunday there is always a traditional costume procession through the village, it is called flower procession. On Monday there is a ball called old wivesball and a day later on Tuesday there is another mask procession which goes to the stadium where the „Masopust" is then beheaded and in the evening the last Carnival ball takes place, it ends exactly in the midnight and from then on starts the time of fast.
The Chod celebrations
The traditional Chod celebrations is known for the musical performances of groups from the chod land and surroundings and even from abroad. These festivities are even well-known outside the Czech republic. During the celebrations many different attractions are offered to the visitors as well as exhibitions and musical delicacies. These festivities take place always in the second week in August.
Vyhledy
It is a folkcelebration in Klenci pod Cerchovem, and it takes place on a stage in front of the old post building.
